Final Artist Statement
For this Project I aimed to create a virtual environment that aligned with the natural habitat of the bearded dragon which is the Australian desert. To create this I struggled with mimicking nature using the VR code. I made the ground a reddish orange as the most iconic images out of Australia are those of the iconic bright red and orange ground although the colors of the desert vary across the continent. I also added red and orange rocks although it took me a rather long time to figure out how to spread them out and vary the numbers and placement of them and the Glitch software was very glitchy and kept making them disappear and reappear. Although this isn't true to the topography of the Australian desert which is really flat I added canyons in the background because I felt like it needed some objects of interest. Lastly I made the circle the sun and put it low in the sky to look like it was rising since the lighting in the environment felt like sunrise and after playing with the settings I could only make it darker and not lighter, and I wanted by scenery to have daylight so I left it as is. If I wasn't on a time crunch and the software was more amiable towards me I would've liked to add tumble weeds rolling around in the environment and perhaps some dusty dead trees to add more areas of Interest and make the land more authentic .
